libwireshark3 software package provides network packet dissection library -- shared library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libwireshark3
libwireshark3 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libwireshark3 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libwireshark3 *
You will get with libwireshark3 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
